Liquid Intelligent Technologies has unveiled its groundbreaking initiative – the Gaborone Metro Ring. This state-of-the-art telecommunication network is poised to revolutionize Botswana’s technological landscape while providing a substantial impetus to the country’s economic development.

As part of Cassava Technologies, a pan-African technology group operating across more than 25 African countries, Liquid Intelligent Technologies aims to foster a digitally connected Botswana that can compete on a global stage. The launch of the Gaborone Metro Ring marks a significant stride in achieving this vision.

The Gaborone Metro Ring is designed as a two-phase project, set to benefit hundreds of local businesses in its initial deployment. This ambitious endeavor is expected to significantly reduce data tariffs for both local and international data products. Small and medium enterprises, which have historically faced challenges in accessing affordable high-speed internet, are expected to reap immense benefits from this initiative.

Odirile Tamajobe, the Managing Director of Liquid Intelligent Technologies Botswana, emphasizes that this initiative will be a game-changer for local businesses, propelling them toward greater competitiveness in the digital age.

The impact of improved high-speed fiber connectivity cannot be underestimated. It will not only enhance telecommunication services but also create a ripple effect of positive social and economic outcomes. The project is expected to open up numerous employment opportunities, contributing to the overall expansion and development of Botswana’s economy. With a strategic focus on densely populated areas of Gaborone, this initiative aligns perfectly with the increasing demand for high-speed internet among local businesses, accelerating their digital transformation journey.

Tamajobe sees this project as a pivotal moment for Botswana’s economic aspirations. He believes that the successful completion of the initial phase underscores Liquid’s dedication to addressing the growing demand for connectivity while laying the foundation for a digitally empowered Botswana, ensuring that no one is left behind in this transformative journey.

Beyond the business realm, this project seamlessly aligns with Botswana Vision 2036, the government’s strategic blueprint to elevate the nation’s economic standing. The Metro Ring stands as a testament to the country’s technological advancements, showcasing the synergy between public and private sectors working in unison to achieve ambitious goals.
