Huawei announced the availability of the new HUAWEI MatePad, a new generation smart office mid-range educational tablet powered by HarmonyOS 2 in Kenya.  The device is retailing in the market for Kshs 46,999.

The all-rounded tablet features a stunning 10.4-inch 2K FullView Display and quad-speakers that are tuned by Harman Kardon for a delightful sound experience. The tablet is also compatible with the HUAWEI M-Pencil Package (2nd generation) and Super Device features offering users multiple smart ways to accomplish tasks. In addition to a powerful battery to keep consumers going all-day coupled with great video and audio conference call experience.

Presented in a simple yet sophisticated look, the HUAWEI MatePad boasts a 10.4-inch 2K HUAWEI FullView Display with an 84% screen-to-body ratio, allowing consumers to fully immerse in the experience with no distractions. The HUAWEI MatePad is also a joy to behold; the micro-curved frame makes the device look thinner while weighing only 450 grams allowing for a more comfortable grip. Huawei’s mid-range tablet also comes with a quad-channel, quad-speaker sound system, as well as professional tuning by Harman Kardon, which provides an ultimate cinema-grade multimedia experience for all content.

Huawei is offering consumers the chance to truly express themselves with the HUAWEI M-Pencil Package bringing a more realistic writing experience to comprehensively improve work and learning efficiency. The stylus brings system-level capabilities including HUAWEI FreeScript, Annotate and Take snippet, making handwriting input more efficient and convenient.

Multi-tasking has also been enhanced thanks to smart multi-tasking features like Multi-Windows, which enables consumers to open up to four windows of different apps simultaneously, making multitasking across different applications much easier. There is also App Multiplier which has been updated and now adds more flexibility and convenience to the landscape app experience. App Multiplier splits a screen of the same app into two allowing consumers to work on two tasks separately at the same time, which effectively utilises the large screen of a tablet. The HUAWEI MatePad also supports HUAWEI Smart Keyboard that features 1.3mm key travel to offer consumers a comfortable and responsive typing experience.

The new HUAWEI MatePad supports Tablet-PC Multi-screen Collaboration capabilities that contain three modes: Mirror Mode, Extend Mode and Collaborate Mode. In the Mirror Mode, the laptop’s screen is mirrored to the tablet display, allowing users to directly edit files and documents, or draw/sketch on their laptop with the HUAWEI M-Pencil just as professional designers would. Then there is the Extend Mode, which transforms the HUAWEI MatePad into a second screen, providing extra screen space to display more content, great for online shopping or browsing the Internet with so many items to explore.

Additionally, the innovative Collaborate Mode enables cross-platform interactions, allowing users to transfer contents such as texts, images and documents between connected devices with a simple drag and drop. Tearing down the boundaries between tablets, smartphones and laptops, the Multi-screen Collaboration enriches and elevates what you could possibly do with the new HUAWEI MatePad and other connected devices, empowering users and letting them become more productive and creative than ever.

The all-rounded tablet also supports seamless connectivity between tablet and supported smartphones like the newly launched HUAWEI P50 Pro. Multi-screen Collaboration enables simple drag-and-drop file transfers between smartphones and tablets. Peripheral sharing lets users type on the smartphone using the tablet’s keyboard and screen, play music saved on the smartphone with the tablet’s speakers and more. This solution also makes it possible for users to pick up calls or respond to text messages directly from the tablet, facilitating a seamless multi-device experience.

The HUAWEI MatePad is equipped with a 7250mAh battery that can provide up to 12 hours of continuous local 1080p. It also supports 22.5W HUAWEI SuperCharge, requiring only 2.5 hours to fully charge, keeping consumers mind at peace.

To enhance a video conference call experience, the HUAWEI MatePad is fitted with a rear 13MP camera and an 8MP front camera. In terms of voice and sound, the tablet has adopted three microphones and Huawei’s self-developed noise reduction feature. These algorithms can distinguish between voices and noise in real time and filter out the latter for the best experience. These ensure that users are concentrating on the speakers voices, resulting in effective communications.

Lastly, the HUAWEI MatePad offers a smart and seamless app experience to consumers. The trusted, innovative and secure AppGallery is available on the HUAWEI MatePad, where consumers can download a wide range of essential apps for work and leisure.
