The Infinix Hot 10i is the latest in the Hot 10 series that has seen a number of handful devices so far. We have reviewed some devices in this series including the standard Infinix Hot 10, the Hot 10T and the Hot 10 Play. These devices share a number of features but they do have some key differences that are meant to make the phones appealing to different consumer groups.

The Infinix Hot 10 series was launched in Kenya back in September 2020 and the company has kept the series alive with the launch of new iterations. Having used the latest device in this series, the Infinix Hot 10i, for a few weeks, I will be highlighting some of the key aspects of this phone to help you decide if it is worth your money.

The Infinix Hot 10i is available in Kenya for around Ksh 11,500 on Jumia and Infinix retail shops across the country. At this price, the Infinix Hot 10i is competing with some other good devices from Tecno, Xiaomi just to name a few. With that in mind, the Hot 10i has to stand out from the rest.

In this post, I will be highlighting some of the top 5 things that make the Hot 10i worth having.

    6,000 mAh Battery

The one thing I love about the Infinix Hot 10i is its battery. The phone comes with a massive 6,000 mAh battery which easily lasts me an entire day. The Hot 10i’s battery does not drain that fast so no matter how you use the phone, having enough power left by the end of the day is possible. The big battery is also what sets apart the Hot 10i when compared to the Hot 10T and Hot 10 Play.

The one thing that is not so good with a huge battery is the time it takes to charge it. There is no fast charging support so expect to sit around for close to 2 hours or even more to fully charge this phone from 0.

    Design and Build

The Infinix Hot 10i borrows a few design aspects from the other devices in the Hot 10 series. The design is very simple but still modern. The back has a dual camera setup housed in a square camera module. It is a simple design that is quite refreshing for a phone within this price.

Overall, the Hot 10i is built for the modern day consumer. The back is slightly textured and this helps improve grip when carrying the phone. This design gives the phone a unique look that stands out when compared with other phones within the same price. To add to this, the phone is available in unique colour options of Midnight Black, Quetzal Cyan, Violet, Ocean Wave.

    Camera

The Infinix Hot 10i has a dual camera setup made up of a 13MP main sensor and a QVGA sensor. This is not mind-blowing but the shots you get with the back camera are quite good. This is an AI camera that has accurate colour reproduction and bright and vibrant shots that you will have no issues sharing on social media.

The back camera supports slow-motion video recording, time-lapse, portrait shots and can record Full HD video at 30 frames per second. For Ksh 11,500, you are getting quite a good camera that takes some good shots in different lighting condition.

The selfie camera is also good and I managed to take very good shots with the 8MP front-facing camera.

    Display

The Infinix Hot 10i has a 6.52-inch display with a resolution of 720 x 1640 pixels. This display is sharp and can be used even under direct sunlight. The display is just the right size to make the phone perfect for media consumption and even gaming.

With this display, you get accurate color reproduction that improves the overall user experience. The display supports adaptive brightness which will automatically adjust the brightness to match your environment.

The display is also very responsive and has an eye care mode that makes the screen amber and this makes it easier to look at the screen or read in dim light and thus may help you fall asleep easily.

    Performance

Looking at the price, the Infinix Hot 10i is not a powerful phone. It is meant to get things done as that is mostly the case for phones within this price range. Even with that said, the Infinix Hot 10i still handles day-to-day tasks with ease. The phone is powered by the MediaTek Helio G25 processor that has been paired with 2GB of RAM and either 32 or 64GB of storage space.

Day-to-day performance is smooth and there are no lags or performance issues when using the phone. The processor is not that powerful and the RAM is not that huge but performance is still reliable. I even managed to play a few games and even though the experience was not exceptional, it is possible.
