Microsoft will be unveiling the next generation of Windows on the 24th of this month. The company has confirmed this as the date for the next upgrade for Windows. The invite read “Join us to see what’s next for Windows” but did not go into details as to what to expect at the event.

The current version, Windows 10, was introduced back in 2015 and was seen as a major upgrade to the operating system in years. This was the successor to Windows 8/8.1 which were not particularly good and hence the update was needed and appreciated.

At the event, Microsoft’s CEO Satya Nadella and Chief Product Officer Panos Panay will give a preview of some of the new features included on this next generation of Windows. Satya Nadella has previously said that this will be one of the most significant updates to Windows and it will unlock greater opportunities for developers and creators.

Microsoft has not revealed the name of this version and for that we may have to wait a little longer. It may be called Windows 11 or just Windows 10 with a new version number.

The name of this version of Windows is not that important as what it brings with it is what most people care about. This version will come with visual enhancements and Improvements to Start Menu, Action Centre, File Explorer and Taskbar, Xbox Auto HDR feature, and improvements to Bluetooth audio support.

The Windows event will be happening later this month and you will be able to follow it online.
