Top 5 Things to Know About the OPPO Reno5 F

OPPO Reno5 F

The OPPO Reno5 F is the latest variant in the Reno series to be launched in Kenya. This phone was launched in the country about a couple of weeks back and joins the slightly more expensive Reno5 that has been available in Kenya for much longer.

As the name suggests, the Reno5 series is the successor to the Reno4 that was launched in Kenya last year. I used and reviewed the Reno4 and loved every bit of it and the case is the same with the Reno5. It is an all round good smartphone that offers good value for money for its price. This is the company’s flagship series in the country and I was not expecting anything less.

Back to the OPPO Reno5 F, I thought I should just highlight some of the things you may want to know about this phone. I have been using the Reno5 F even before it was launched and as I am working on the full review, I thought I should do a post showing some of the top 5 things you should know about it.

The Price

The main thing you may want to know is the price. The OPPO Reno5 F is available in Kenya for Ksh 31,999. This is about Ksh 10,000 cheaper than the standard Reno5 that in Kenya you can get for about Ksh 42,000.

Processor and RAM

The OPPO Reno5 F is powered by the MediaTek Helio P95 processor that is paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage space. Having used the phone for a few weeks, this combination is quite good as I have not had any performance issues ever since I got the phone.

I have played a few games with the phone and even that experience was quite good.

As for the software, the Reno5 F comes with Android 11 out of the box with ColourOS 11.1 on top.

The OPPO Reno5 F has a total of five cameras with 4 at the back and 1 for selfies. The back setup is made up of a 48MP main lens, an 8MP ultrawide lens, 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro lens. This is almost the same combination as the Reno5 except that the latter has a 64MP main sensor. The shots I have gotten with the Reno5 F so far are pretty good. The back camera can record 4K videos at 30fps.

For selfies, the Reno5 F has a 32MP sensor which is equally as good.

AMOLED Display

For the display, the Reno5 F has a 6.43-inch AMOLED display that is really good. I prefer this display over the one on the standard Reno 5. If you have ever used an AMOLED display, then you know how good they are and why I had to add this to the list.

Viewing angles are good and colour reproduction is equally as good.

4310 mAh Battery with 30W Fast charging

The OPPO Reno5 F comes with the same battery we got on the standard Reno5. This is a 4310 mAh battery but surprisingly it drains much faster than the one on the Reno5. I do not know why this is the case but this is something I have noticed having used both phones for quite sometime.

The good news is that the phone supports 30W fast charging that can help you top it up much faster.
