Sharing Files Between Android and Windows About to Get Easier

Quick Share Samsung

Sharing files between a Windows PC and an Android phone can be done wireless or using a cable, but the process has never been convenient.

On the other hand, sharing files between a MacBook and an iPhone or iPad is a breeze, due to AirDrop, another feature that Android users wish they had, besides iMessage.

But Samsung and Microsoft have partnered and are working on a solution to this problem. According to a new report, the two want to bring the Aid Drop-like file transfer experience between Android and Windows 10.

The report says Quick Share feature, exclusively available on Samsung phones, like the Galaxy S20 series, is headed to Windows 10’s store. Quick Share eases sending photos, videos, and files between Galaxy devices.

The Quick Share app is coming to Windows 10 store and will enable users to easily share files on a Samsung Galaxy phone or tablet and a Windows PC the Air-drop way.

While Quick Share is only available on Samsung Galaxy phones, there’s also a chance that it may be locked to only these devices.

Throughout the Microsoft-Samsung marriage, that has strived to bridge the gap between Android devices and Windows OS; the two have long locked out some exclusive features to only Samsung Galaxy devices.

And Quick Share maybe just added to that growing list of exclusive features, which is understandable in Samsung’s case as it helps them bolster their feature offerings to entice smartphone buyers.

Quick Share will use Wi-Fi Direct or Bluetooth for easier file transfer. But in the meantime, it is not known when the Quick Share app will arrive on Microsoft’s Windows 10 store.
