Top 5 Features of the Tecno Camon 16 Premier

The Tecno Camon 16 Premier is the latest from the company and joins its ever growing camera-centric line of devices. The Camon 16 Premier comes to the market a few months after the launch of the Camon 15 series. The Camon 15 series was and still is a good device but compared to some of the new devices unveiled in 2020, it may not be as competitive.

In this post, I will be looking at the 5 things that I love about the Tecno Camon 16 Premier.

Cameras

Tecno Camon devices are known for their cameras and the Camon 16 Premier is exactly that. The phone has a quad camera setup at the back made up of a 64MP main sensor, 8MP and two 2MP sensors.

The shots you get with the back camera are quite good with very good saturation. They are detailed enough making them decent enough for any use. I was expecting extraordinary performance from the 64MP sensor but I did not get that. Even with that said, the shots I got are still good. I was particularly impressed with the Night mode that does a good job in giving you well lit shots even with the lighting is not so good.

The selfie camera is also good. For this, you have two front-facing cameras including a 48MP main sensor and an 8MP additional sensor. The selfie shots are quite good, well saturated and detailed even when taken indoors.

Battery

The Tecno Camon 16 Premier comes with a 4500 mAh battery that should be enough to last most people an entire day. I managed to get it to last this long even with heavy usage. This battery also supports 33W fast charging so you can top it up very fast when you are running low. With this, you can get 50% charge in just 30 minutes of charging.

Display

The Tecno Camon 16 Premier comes with a massive 6.9-inch display. This is big by any standard and is the biggest I have used this year. This display has a resolution of 1080 x 2460 pixels which is quite good in my opinion.

This display is perfect for media consumption and I found myself watching a lot of videos and playing games during the review period. Colour reproduction on this display is top notch and the experience has been good so far.

Design

Compared to the Camon 15 series, the Camon 16 Premier feels well-built and the design is modernized. The phone is a bit heavy but not so much to make it uncomfortable to use and carry around. The phone is still usable with one hand even with its size.

Performance

The Tecno Camon 16 Premier is powered by the gaming focused MediaTek G90T processor that has been paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage space. With this combination, the phone will handle day to day tasks without any lags. I did not experience any performance issues during my review period no matter what I threw at it.
