The vivo V19 is the latest flagship from the company to launch in Kenya. The phone is available in stores for Ksh 40,999. This is the same price its predecessor, the Vivo V17 Pro was available for in the country last year. I did review the vivo V17 Pro and loved it and you can check that here.
The vivo V19 is the perfect competitor to the OPPO reno 3 that has been in Kenya for a number of months. It does offer a lot more compared to its predecessor and matches what the reno 3 has to offer.

Here are some of the five things I like about the vivo V19 so far.
Design and Build
The vivo V19 has a nice feel to it. It is well made even when compared with the V17 Pro. It does feel premium from the materials used and is noticeably light. I got the model with a colour vivo is calling sleek silver. This looks good and stands out as it is a colour we rarely see on smartphones these days.
In summary, the phone feels well built and worth the price vivo is asking for.
Dual Selfie Camera
The vivo V19 comes with a dual selfie camera made up of a 32MP main camera and an 8MP ultrawide angle camera. This is not the first smartphone with such a setup and even its predecessor had a similar selfie camera module.
It is always a nice addition to have a dual camera setup and especially the ultrawide angle one that lets you fit more people or your surrounding into your selfies.
Performance
Powering the vivo V19 is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 processor that is configured with 8GB of RAM and either 128 or 256GB of RAM. With This combination, you are expecting good performance and that is exactly what you are getting.
The phone handles day to day tasks with ease and at no single time did I experience any lag. I have also managed to play a few games and the experience has been very good.

Battery Life
With a 4,500 mAh battery, the vivo V19 can easily last you for up to 2 days on a single charge. I have been thoroughly impressed with this battery as it lasts that long even with heavy usage. Maybe the software optimization has been perfected as with the powerful specs it comes with, I expected the battery to drain very fast but it does not.
The vivo V19 supports 33W fast charging and vivo’s Flash charge 2.0. With this, you can get it from 0 to about 55% in about 30 minutes. This is quite fast and useful if you are running late and want to charge up your phone before leaving the house or the office.
Display
The vivo V19 comes with a 6.44-inch display. This is a Super AMOLED display that looks really good especially with dark mode enabled. The experience is just so good for its price.
If you are into watching movies on your phone, you will enjoy the experience on the vivo V19. This display has a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. This should be good for most people for mobile video streaming, gaming or just general media consumption.
This display also supports HDR 10.
