Twitter is used by many around the world from different regions with different languages.
As such, the platform usually lets users chose their preferred language, so they know which kind of tweets to display on their timeline. But still, normally, you may bump into a tweet in a foreign language on several occasions.
But to see what the tweet is talking about, you can click the available translation option to know what the tweet is talking about in your tweet preferred language.
Twitter wants to save you from that extra step by leveraging a machine-based translation option. According to Twitter Brazil, the company will start to translate tweets written in other languages on your behalf automatically.
The added convenience here is that you can see what the tweet is talking about without taking the extra step to tap on the translate tweet option.
Twitter will, however, continue to use Microsoft’s and Google’s language translation tools.
Testing is currently going on for a limited group of Twitter users in Brazil on iOS and Android.
The company will move forward to expand the feature to more countries around the world but only if the test yields good results.
