Microsoft Ditches Production of Xbox One X and Xbox One S Digital Edition to Focus on Xbox Series X

Microsoft has announced its discontinuing production of the Xbox One X and Xbox One S Digital Edition.

“As we ramp into the future with Xbox Series X, we’re taking the natural step of stopping production on Xbox One X and Xbox One S All-Digital Edition,” the company said.

The two – Xbox One X(launched in November 2017) and Xbox One S All-Digital Edition(launched in April 2019) – will be available until stocks lasts but Microsoft is not giving up on the Xbox One S yet. Xbox One S will still continue to be manufactured and sold globally.

The discontinuation means the company wants to focus on producing its next-gen gaming console, Xbox Series X, which was unveiled in December. We already know how the Xbox Series X looks like, its internal hardware, and what it offers on performance-wise.

Rumor has it that the company might launch a successor to the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition. Reports have suggested the company was to launch a One S Digital successor in June, that will be less powerful and costs a bit less than the Xbox Series X.

Currently, it’s alleged the company might launch the console, codenamed Lockhart, next month.

Microsoft hasn’t officially said anything yet, so take these “reports” as pure speculation.
