Phew!! The coronavirus pandemic doesn’t seem to stop. We’ve seen numbers spike locally setting a new record high of 300 cases in a day. Certainly indicating what many may not want to hear as of now: continuation of the lockdown. Elsewhere, the rhythms seem to be the same. Case in study, the US.

In reality that means not everyone is following the health directives. In its power, Facebook is doing what can be done in their ability as of now – to remind you of how to take care of yourself.

In regards to this, Facebook wants to remind us all to wear masks prominently atop of the newsfeed. Along with that, the alert will also be accompanied by links to Facebook’s COVID-19 Information Center, as well as the CDC.

The notification will be displayed on top of the main Facebook platform and its sibling Instagram.

The information will be shown as in the hero image above.

    What Twitter is saying

In a tweet, Twitter said, “You can have an edit button when everyone wears a mask.”

Will the platform finally receive an edit button? Probably not. Twitter’s CEO Jack Dorsey has been vocal about that never happening. But what could I say at the moment? Let’s see how that goes.
