    This is What the Safaricom Lipa Na M-Pesa App for Business Owners Can Do

    Safaricom has today unveiled its new smartphone app targeting business owners. This new app is named ‘M-Pesa for Business’ and is designed to help business owners access real-time statements, export statements and track the performance of their businesses on the go.

    You can get the M-Pesa for Business app on your Android device right now with the iOS version expected on the App Store in the coming days.

    Speaking on this, Peter Ndegwa, CEO, Safaricom said “At Safaricom, we are taking a focus on the needs of small and medium businesses to provide them with suitable technology solutions to help them grow. The M-PESA for Business smartphone App is one such solution. It empowers more than 170,000 businesses across the country to send money and make payments and provides them with simple and detailed reports from the convenience of the mobile phone.”

    So, what is it that you can do with the M-Pesa for Business app, let’s find out.

    Transact easily

    Business owners will be able to use the Pay Customer feature to send money to pay suppliers, refunds or salaries directly to their M-PESA.

    They will also be able to withdraw money collected on the till to an M-Pesa account, agent or even a bank.

    Merchants will also be able to pay their suppliers directly from their M-Pesa till using Pay Bill and Buy Goods.

    Track business growth

    Business owners will be able to track how much money moves in and out of their account. They will be able to see accumulated value each day.

    View full Statements

    See all transactions that were made or received in your account. Use Money-in and Money-out to filter between credits and debits.

    Manage their account

    Merchants will be able to log in, manage and transact on multiple till numbers under the same nominated number. The roll up feature allows the pushing of funds to the head office.

    This app compliments the *234# menu that Lipa Na M-Pesa merchants have been using.
