Samsung is finally rolling out Android 10 to the Galaxy S9 series. The Galaxy S9 series was officially unveiled back in 2018 so it is not an old phone and is one of the devices that we expected to get the update at some point.
The Samsung Galaxy S9 Series came with Android 8 Oreo out of the box with the Samsung Experience 9.0. The devices in this series got updated with Android 9 Pie layered with One UI. This was the first major update the phone got and was a very crucial one as it introduced Samsung’s new User Interface, One UI, to the Galaxy S9 owners.
Samsung’s Galaxy S9 flagships were announced nearly two years ago with Android 8 Oreo and Samsung’s Experience 9.0 on top. Since then both devices got updated to the newer One UI based on Android 9 Pie, and now users are treated to their second big update with the official stable build of Android 10 alongside One UI 2.0.
Samsung is pushing Android 10 to Galaxy S9 users in Germany, the US and the Netherlands. This update is available to those using Android 9 Pie in the select countries. Those who have the One UI 2.0 beta are yet to get the update but they should get it in the coming weeks.
This update is almost 2GB in size so make sure you have stable and reliable internet connection before you start updating your device. The update brings with it enhanced system-wide dark mode, screen gestures, built-in screen recorder and better privacy and notification control. This update is also bundled with the January security patch
The update is currently limited to the above mentioned countries but should roll out to more markets in the coming weeks.
