Since most browsers are nowadays built based on Chromium, many functionalities included in one browser could move to other browsers, as well.

In the near future, browsers will even be bolstered with tones of features that will be available across the board. Yeah, a better web is coming.

Soon, browsers could achieve a different level of collaboration we haven’t seen before. The first step that has been taken to achieve this is the ability to share tabs between browsers.

A flag in Chrome Canary has revealed you will soon be able to drag and drop Chrome tabs to and from any other browser that supports tabs.

This feature, based on the reports is compatible with Mac, Windows, Linux, Chrome OS.

The flag is named #mix-browser-type-tabs – “Allows tabs to be dragged between any browsers that support tabs, including apps.”

As per now, this feature is still in early development stages, and would require some extra work before it is made possible, says a Chromium developer.

Nothing has been mentioned for Android or iOS for now.
