The Xiaomi Redmi Go, the company’s latest Android Go smartphones, is coming to Kenya. The phone will be available in the country exclusively through ecommerce platform, Jumia. This will be one of the many Xiaomi phones that will be launched in the country this year and available exclusively on Jumia.
The Xiaomi Redmi Go is an Android Go smartphone. Since it is a Go Edition phone, the OS is tweaked to work well with 1GB of RAM or less. These smartphones are meant for markets such as Kenya as not everyone in developing markets has the money to spend on powerful smartphones.
We have seen a number of Android Go smartphones in Kenya and the Redmi Go will join this growing list. These devices tend to offer reliable performance at affordable prices

When launched in Kenya, the Xiaomi Redmi Go will be available exclusively through Jumia. The price is yet to be revealed but it should be in the Ksh 9,000 range. This is a very competitive segment and I will be watching to see how it works out for Xiaomi.
