Yesterday, Samsung officially unveiled its Galaxy S10 series to the world. This is the company’s latest flagship series that is made up of three devices, the Samsung Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10 and the Galaxy S10+. There is also the Galaxy S10 5G but that is a story for another day.

The three new smartphones, the Galaxy S10e, S10 and the S10+ are up on pre-order in Kenya for those interested. They are the successors to the Galaxy S9 and S9+ and I am impressed that Samsung will bring them to the country earlier than I had expected. You will be able to pre-order these phones from Samsung brand shops in the country as from today.

As for price, this is what you should expect.

    • Samsung Galaxy S10e – Ksh 78,999
    • Samsung Galaxy S10 – Ksh 95,999
    • Samsung Galaxy S10+ (128GB model) – Ksh 105,999
    • Samsung Galaxy S10+ (512GB model) – Ksh 127,999

    The Samsung Galaxy S10e

The Samsung Galaxy S10e is a direct competitor to the iPhone XR which is Apple’s ‘affordable’ smartphone that we saw late last year. There is nothing affordable about the Ksh 78,999 price tag of the Galaxy S10e but it is cheaper than all the other phones the company unveiled yesterday. It is the right device for someone who wants to get into the Galaxy S family but is not willing to spend so much money on a phone.

Here are some of the key specifications of the Galaxy S10e.

    Display Size: 5.8 inches with a resolution of 2280 X 1080 Pixels

    Processor: Exynos 9820 Octa

    The Samsung Galaxy S10

For those who are ready to part with Ksh 95,999, there is the Galaxy S10 for you. As you will notice, performance and the cameras are just some of the key things Samsung is focusing on with this device.
