HMD Global has added the Nokia 3.1 Plus to its growing list of Nokia smartphones available in Kenya. The company has announced that the Nokia 3.1 Plus is available in Kenya for Ksh 17,500 and this means that it will compete with devices such as the Tecno Camon 11, Infinix Note 5 and the soon to be announced Huawei Y7 Prime 2019.

HMD Global has been working hard to flood the market with Nokia smartphones and the 3.1 Plus is the latest one. Late last year, we saw the company launch the Nokia 5.1 Plus and the Nokia 7.1 Plus. The 5.1 Plus is available for Ksh 24,000 while the 7.1 Plus is available for Ksh 30,000.

The Nokia 3.1 Plus is the successor to the Nokia 3.1 which you can get on Jumia for as low as Ksh 12,999.

“with a lot of people sending us positive feedback about our Nokia 3.1, we have decided to take the experience and gone big in a bid to deliver premium experiences for our customers at an exceptional value. The Nokia 3.1 Plus delivers a larger display, dual camera, two-day battery life and the power of octa-core processer– all in an accessible package,” – Mark Misumi, HMD Business Manager East Africa.

The Nokia 3.1 Plus looks a lot like the Xiaomi Redmi 6. These two phones have similar specifications with the latter being slightly cheaper. The 6-inch display on the Nokia 3.1 Plus has a 720p resolution which some people will not appreciate. For its price, the company could have gone with a full HD resolution.

Powering the Nokia 3.1 Plus is a 2GHz Helip P22 processor that is paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage space that can be expanded to 400GB using a MicroSD card. Even though the phone comes with Android 8.1 out of the box, it is scheduled to get Android Pie update very soon.

Below are some of the other key specifications of the Nokia 3.1 Plus.
