Some Retailers Are Already Selling the Tecno Phantom 8 in Kenya for Ksh 32000

Tecno Phantom 8

Last week, Tecno officially unveiled its latest flagship smartphone, the Phantom 8. The phone was launched in Dubai and the company did not reveal when it will be available in Kenya and for how much. The phone has already been launched in Nigeria where it is available for N128,000 (approximately Ksh 37,000).

In Kenya, Tecno is yet to officially unveil the Phantom 8 but some retailers are selling it for as low as Ksh 32,000. I have seen the phone with one retailer, Phone Place Kenya, for that price. Given that Tecno is yet to say anything about the availability of this phone in the country, do not be surprised if the price is a bit higher when you see it with other retailers.

For me, Ksh 32,000 is a very good deal if it stays that way even as the phone is officially launched in Kenya. The Tecno Phantom 8 is not just another cheap device from the company. It comes with a new design and a dual camera setup. Tecno is calling this a ‘Cool Fire Design’ when referring to the glossy back cover and is much better that the one we saw last year on the Phantom 6. As for the cameras, they are both made by Sony with one being a 13MP one and the other one being a 12MP one. The 13MP sensor has a whopping 10x Super Zoom while the 12MP one has 2X optical zoom.

Below are some of the key specifications of the Tecno Phantom 8.

Display Size: 5.7 inches with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels

Processor: 2.6 GHz Octa-core Mediatek Helio P25

RAM: 6 GB

Storage Space: 64 GB, can be expanded using a microSD card

Android Version: Android 7.0 Nougat

Camera: Dual 12MP + 13MP units at the back with a 20MP front facing one

Battery: 3500 mAh removable battery

Is it a good deal for you? If so, get the phone from Phone Place Kenya.
