Last week, Samsung unveiled its latest flagship device, the Galaxy Note 8. This is a very important device for the company given the disaster that was the Galaxy Note 7 last year. The Galaxy Note 8 is an improvement compared to the Note 7 but its price is one thing that will prevent some people from getting it.

In Kenya, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be sold at Ksh 100,000 according to Android Kenya. This is not cheap but is not as expensive as I had expected it to be. I was expecting it to be above Ksh 110,000. The Ksh 100,000 price is for the one with 64GB of storage space as this is the variant that will be coming to Kenya. Android Kenya has revealed that the 256GB model will not be launched in the country so you will have to use other channels if you really want to get one.

As for when it will be available in Kenya, that has not yet been revealed but pre-orders will open mid next month, on September 15 to be exact. This is the same day the phone will go on sale in most other markets. With that said, the Galaxy Note 8 will probably available in retail stores later in the month or sometime in October.

Samsung Kenya will also be offering three main colour options at launch, the Midnight Black, Orchid Gray and Maple Gold ones. Unfortunately, the Deep Sea Blue option will not be available just yet, it will be coming into the country later. This is the colour that stood out for me and it is sad to see it delayed.

I will keep you updated on this if and when I get more information.
