At Mobile World Congress 2017, Huawei launched its 2017 flagship smartphone, the Huawei P10 and P10 Plus. Huawei Kenya is not wasting time and has confirmed that it will bring this phone into the country next month.

Bringing this phone into the country this fast is meant to ensure Huawei has control when it comes to distribution of the phone. The last thing the company wants is for importers to look for their own channels to use when importing this phone.

The company says that it hopes the P10 will help it build on the growth it realized last year that saw its market share rise to 14% in Kenya. With company’s such as Samsung not being active in the high end product range, Huawei has enough time to show consumers why it is the brand to choose before the Galaxy S8 hits the market in the next couple of months. The company has already revealed that it is targeting 50% growth in sales in the country this year and hopes it will achieve this through devices such as the P10 and the recently launched mid ranger, the Huawei GR5 2017.

“As culture and technology continue to intersect in every aspect of our world, we want to deliver new products and experiences that ultimately improve and enhance life,” said Richard Yu, CEO, Huawei Consumer Business Group. “Our impressive new HUAWEI P10 and HUAWEI P10 Plus weave together the exceptional imaging capabilities of Leica and our stand-out design and hardware innovations to bring users a powerful device experience.”

Huawei has not confirmed the retail price of the P10 when it gets to Kenya or even if it plans to bring the P10 Plus. We are also not sure if we will be seeing the Huawei watch 2 or the Porsche Design Huawei watch. We will update you on these if and when we get more information.
