For a long time now, users could only send and receive emails with attachments of up to 25MB when using Gmail. Those who wanted to send or receive files larger than 25MB had to send or receive multiple emails each with attachments below 25MB.

This is all changing as Google has increased the size limit for incoming emails to 50MB. In a blog post, the company said, “Starting today, you will be able to receive emails of up to 50MB directly.” This is double the limit that was there before and I am sure users will be happy about it.

Since this only applies to incoming emails, users will be able to receive emails with attachments of up to 50MB but unfortunately cannot send emails with attachments over 25MB. What this means is that you will only be able to send with such attachments if you are not using Gmail.

To conclude, Google said that those who still want to send emails with larger attachments can use Google Drive. The company said, “ending size limits will remain the same at 25MB; however, just as before, you can use Google Drive to send larger attachments.”
