Gionee is not the first name that comes to mind when talking about smartphones. The company has been around for a while and has some interesting devices even though very few people knoe about it.

The company plans to unveil two new devices in a few days at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The two will be the selfie focused Gionee A1 and A1 Plus smartphones. According to Gionee, users will be able to change the lighting effects of the front camera for much better selfies. This is quite interesting and I would love to see it in action.

Manufacturers have realised that younger customers prefer smartphones with high quality selfie cameras and this is why you see the likes of Gionee coming out with selfie smartphones.

Besides the front facing cameras, the Gionee A1 and A1 Plus will support ultrafast charging through dual charging chips and a better power saving system. Gionee has not revealed anything about the ultrafast charging system but it might be similar to VOOC and Dash Charge.

Gionee has not revealed anything about the specs but since MWC is just around the corner, we will not have to wait long to know what it will come with.
