Last week, we told you that Infinix has plans to bring its latest entry level smartphone, the Hot 4, into the country. Well, if you have been waiting for this phone, you will be happy to know that it is finally available in Kenya and you can get it from Jumia for Ksh 9,699. The phone is available exclusively on Jumia for now and you will not be getting it on other platforms.

The Infinix Hot 4 is here to replace the Hot 3 and Hot 3 LTE smartphones that were launched a few months ago. I was not a huge fan of the Hot 3 so am excited to see what the Hot 4 has to offer. According to Infinix, the Hot 4 is made for the youth, specifically those in college or the newly employed, and that is why it is not expensive. This differentiates it from other products from the company such as the Infinix Note and the Infinix Zero lineups.

The Hot 4 comes into the market a few weeks after the company unveiled its latest phablet, the Infinix Note 3, and a few days after it unveiled yet another smartphone, the Infinix Hot S. The company is flooding the market and especially the low end market segment and clearly that is benefiting them, te company is right now one of the most popular smartphone brands online (in Kenya).

The Biggest upgrade with the Infinix Hot 4 is the inclusion of a 4000 mAh battery. The battery of devices under the Infinix Hot series have never been so good and it is a good thing to see the company changing that. I will be putting this battery to the test during the review period to see if it is as good as the company claims it is.

Some of the main specs you expect to find on the Infinix Hot 4 include

    Infinix Hot 4 Specifications

    Display: 5.5 inches, 1280 x 720 pixels (267 PPI)

    Processor: 1.3GHz Quad-core Mediatek MT6580 Processor

    RAM: 2GB

Internal storage: 16GB/32GB, expandable to 32GB using a MicroSD card

Camera: 8MP at the back with dual LED flash, 5MP front facing one.

OS Version: Android 6.0 Marshmallow with XOS on top

Battery: 4,000 mAh with Fast charge

    Extra Feature: Fingerprint scanner

We will be reviewing the Hot 4 very soon so you should watch out for that.
