The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 May Come with A Curved Display from Samsung

Samsung introduced the curved displays when it launched the Galaxy Edge devices a while back. This feature is still in the infancy stages but some manufacturers have reportedly expressed interest in it. Most of these are Chinese based manufacturers and according to PhoneArena, we may start seeing this display on other smartphones as early as this year.

The report says that manufacturers such as Xiaomi are very much interested in this display. Samsung may have already sold some curved displays to Xiaomi or may be planning to do so very soon as the Chinese manufacturer plans to unveil the Mi Note 2. The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will be unveiled anytime from today to replace the Mi Note which was unveiled last year.

Xiaomi is not the only manufacturer interested in this display as the report says that we may also be seeing these curved displays on Huawei devices. If this happens, we may be seeing it on the high end units such as the Huawei Mate series. Huawei’s next flagship, the P9 will be unveiled next month and I highly doubt that it will have this display.

The Edge display is not a must have feature on any smartphone and it will be interesting to see if these manufacturers will introduce two smartphones with the same features with the only difference being the display just like what Samsung is doing or if they will have one device. Personally am not a huge fan of curved displays, I know they look cool but I do not see myself using them on a daily basis.
