Last Tuesday we told you about Oppo’s plans to unveil its next smartphones, the Oppo R9 and R9 Plus, later this month. This was just a rumor back then but Oppo has finally confirmed that it will be unveiling these two smartphones on March 17.

Both these smartphones have been certified TENAA and through this we got to see some of the specs they will come with. Some of these include a 5.5 inch AMOLED display with a 1080p resolution for the Oppo R9 and a 6 inch AMOLED display with a 1080p resolution for the Oppo R9 Plus.

Both The Oppo R9 and R9 Plus will have all-metal bodies and will be powered by octa-core processor paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage space which can be expanded using a microSD card.

For the camera, they will both have 16MP sensors both at the back and front. Yes, you read that right, a 16MP camera in front for all you selfie fans. The one unfortunate thing is that these phones will come with Android 5.1 Lollipop and not marshmallow, hopefully they will be upgraded soon.

Providing all the juice for the Oppo R9 is a 2,850mAh with a 4,120mAh for the R9 Plus. Both of these support VOOC rapid charge.

Pricing has still not been unveiled but we will know that on March 17.
