Motorola has today officially launched the Moto X Play smartphone. This smartphone has been launched in India where it is available to purchase via online stores. Motorola has, like all other manufacturers, been targeting India’s growing smartphone users and wants to cash in on this especially the budget conscious consumers.

The Moto X play comes with a 5.5 inch full HD display which seems to be the standard with most manufacturers. It is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 615 which is not the best out there but is perfect for a budget-friendly smartphone. The phone has 2GB of RAM and is available in either 16 or 32 GB of storage space. The storage space can be expanded further using a MicroSD card.

At the back of the Moto X Play is a 21 MP camera with autofocus and dual LED flash. The camera is able to record Full HD videos. At the front sits a 5 MP camera which is perfect for anyone who is into selfies.

The Moto X Play has dual SIM support and is powered by Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with a 3,630 mAh battery underneath. This is quite a big battery which am sure can easily last for the whole day.

As for price and availability, the Moto X Play is currently available in India with no news if we will see an international version anytime soon. The 16 GB model is retailing at $278 with the 32 GB model selling at $301.

Keep it here to be informed when the international version is out.
