Design

Infinix Hot 2 View From the Side

The Infinix Hot 2 (X510) is an entry level device so do not expect a fancy design. Even though this is the case, the phone has a decent design which is made of plastic components with curved edges that makes it easy and comfortable to hold. The volume keys and power button are on the left side of the phone with the micro USB port and headphone jack on the top. The speaker grill is on the bottom part of the phone.

Display

The Infinix Hot 2 (X510) has a 5 inch HD display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. This translates to a pixel density of 294 ppi. This is the same resolution and pixel density as the Infinix Zero 2 which is a premium flagship smartphone from the same company.

Infinix Hot 2 display

The display is quite bright and in describing it, Infinix says, “the color performances and incredible brightness of this screen makes the Hot 2 a great device for gaming and video experience.” This is not the best display out there but it still gets the job done.

RAM and Memory

The Infinix Hot 2 is available in either 1 GB or 2 GB of RAM. This is coupled with 16 GB of internal storage space that can be expanded using a MircoSD card. Having 16 GB as standard for an entry level smartphone is such a commendable thing for Infinix to do. With such a phone, you always expect at most 8 GB of storage space but Infinix seems to be pushing the limits with the Hot 2.

CPU and OS

The Infinix Hot 2 is powered by the MediaTek MT 6580 (Quad Core) processor that clocks at 1.3GHz. This is a decent CPU for an entry level smartphone and is combined with a Mali-400 MP graphic chipset that is good for playing videos and some graphics intensive games.

This phone is powered by Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) and is scheduled to get the latest updates straight from Google as they become available.

Camera

Infinix Hot 2 Camera

The Infinix Hot 2 (X510) has an 8MP camera at the back with a 2MP one at the front. These are not the best cameras out there especially in low light conditions. When outside, the cameras perform very well for an entry level smartphone. But that all changes when you get to a dark room. The rear facing camera is able to record 1080p videos at 30fps.

Battery

The Infinix Hot 2 comes with a 2200 mAh battery which can get you through the day on one charge. If you are a heavy user, you will need to charge the phone at least once during your day.

Price in Kenya

The Infinix Hot 2 is retailing for Ksh 8,999 on Jumia Kenya. Get it by clicking here.
