Even before Samsung announced its latest flagships Smartphone, the Galaxy S6, the company was planning to ditch the Snapdragon processor in favour of its own Exynos processor. Samsung claimed that the latest Snapdragon 810 has overheating issues but that matter is still up for debate. Qualcomm was slightly bothered with this but went ahead to confirm that most flagship Smartphones will be using the processor.

A new rumor has just surfaced indicating that Samsung will partner with MediaTek in some of its devices in the future. Keep in mind that this is just a rumor that has yet to be confirmed so we do not have so much information. It has been reported before that MediaTek was to provide processors for low end Tizen Smartphones.

MediaTek’s Deputy General Manager, Zhu Shan-gzu was not clear when commenting on this but only said, “made progress little by little in some direction”.

Samsung may have its own processor but getting processors for its low end Smartphones from MediaTek makes some sense for the company. This will give the company chance to focus on manufacturing high end processors.
