The Infinix Zero 4 has just been launched in Kenya today and is currently available exclusively on Jumia. The phone’s main selling point is its 16MP camera at the back. Infinix Zero smartphones are the company’s flagship devices and they usually have impressive cameras like the one we saw on the Infinix Zero 3 last year.

With that said, the latest device is the Infinix Zero 4 that users can get in Kenya from today. I have had this device for the past two days and these are my first impressions on what it has to offer. Before we even get into what it offers, let’s look at what you get in the package.

    Looks the part

The Infinix Zero 4 is the company’s flagship device and it definitely looks the part. It has an all metal build that makes it a bit heavy but looks good overall. The front panel has the 2.5D glass that gives it a smooth feel worthy of its Ksh 18,500 price tag. The display on this phone is a 5.5 inch one with a Full HD resolution, if you want a bigger display, you will have to wait till next week when the company launches the Infinix Zero 4 Plus in Kenya.

Still on the design, the Infinix Zero 4 has slightly curved edges which is much better than the sharp edges we saw on the Zero 3. The edges on the Zero 4 feel smooth and make it easier and comfortable to hold the phone even with one hand.

There are two speaker grilles at the bottom but only one of them has actual speakers, the other one is just for the looks. Sandwiched between the two grilles is a MicroUSB port for charging and data transfer. On the sides you get the power, volume keys and two SIM card slots on the right with the MicroSD slot on the left. The headphone jack is at the top.

Turning the Infinix Zero 4 reveals the 16MP camera that protrudes slightly from the back cover. Next to this camera is the dual tone LED flash with the fingerprint sensor just below it. From my first impressions, this fingerprint scanner is quite fast.

    What’s New?

Now that we have looked at the design, let’s look at what the Infinix Zero 4 has to offer. The phone is an upgrade to the Zero 3 so whatever it offers has to be better than its predecessor.

    Infinix Zero 4 Design

As we have mentioned above, the Infinix Zero 4 has a 5.5-inch display with a Full HD resolution, this is the same one you find on the Zero 3. Infinix has added is the 2.5D glass that looks good and at the same time adds a layer of protection. The front facing camera is bumped up from 5MP to 8MP. For the navigation buttons, Infinix has decided to go with physical ones on the Zero 4. This is good but keep in mind that they are not backlit so you may have some difficulties using them in the dark before you get used to them.

For the processor, the Infinix Zero 4 has the 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6753 Octa Core processor paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage space. The phone comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow and there is no news if it will be getting Android Nougat.
