The First Bitcoin Conference In Africa Will Be Held In South Africa This April

BITCOIN

When it comes to Bitcoins, Africa has not been as active as most developed economies. This is all about to change as the first Bitcoin conference in Africa will be held in South Africa.

According to the organizers, the conference will bring together investors, venture capitalists, start-ups, merchants and Bitcoin enthusiasts who are keen to improve the adoption of cryptocurrency in Africa.

The conference will discuss a number of things including what Bitcoin is, the block chain and Bitcoin mining, merchant adoption, Bitcoin in Africa, the future of Bitcoin and the legal and financial implications of Bitcoin.

Africa is ready to adopt Bitcoin given that Bitcoins make it cheaper and easier to transfer money between those in Africa and those leaving abroad. To put it into perspective, you will be charged between 9 to 20% to send money from London to Nairobi, this quite high compared to using a digital currency exchange such as BitPesa that will charge you only 3%. With a chance to save some money, Bitcoin adoption in Africa will definitely be a positive thing.

The Bitcoin Conference will held for only two days, 16th and 17th April 2015, at the Atlantic Imbizo Conference and Function Studio, Cape Town South Africa.
