Co-operative Bank of Kenya has partnered with Car & General to expand access to agricultural machinery through tailored asset financing for farmers and agribusinesses.
The partnership will enable farmers, cooperatives, agribusinesses and other agricultural enterprises to finance new Kubota tractors and implements under flexible repayment arrangements.
Eligible customers will be able to access financing of up to 100 per cent for select financing structures, with repayment periods of up to 72 months. The facility will also offer seasonal repayment options designed to align with agricultural income cycles.
Financing will be available through Co-operative Bank’s nationwide branch network and Car & General’s dealer network, potentially making mechanisation equipment more accessible to farmers across the country.
“Farmers and cooperatives have long told us that the barrier to mechanisation isn’t willingness, it’s structure,” said Samuel Birech, Director, Retail and Business Banking at Co-operative Bank. “This facility was built around that feedback, giving customers a financing path that matches the reality of their income cycles.”
Car & General General Manager George Rubiri said the partnership combines Kubota’s agricultural machinery expertise with Co-operative Bank’s financing capabilities.
The two companies expect the financing arrangement to support increased adoption of modern agricultural equipment while improving productivity and profitability across the agricultural value chain.
