Andrew Fassnidge noted the significant evolution of Africa’s tech ecosystem over the past decade.
“When Africa Tech Summit was born in 2016, the ecosystem looked very different,” he said. “Many ventures were focused on securing funding, and formal VC activity was still emerging. Today, despite market volatility, we’re seeing African startups scaling across borders, driving trade, and achieving more mergers and exits as the ecosystem matures.”
Investment remains central to this growth, with the summit’s Investment Showcase continuing to play a key role in connecting high-potential startups with global capital and strategic partners.
According to the Partech Africa Tech Venture Capital Report 2025, African startups raised $4.1 billion in 2025.
Startups across sectors including blockchain, agritech, cybersecurity, payments and Web3 have been invited to apply for the Investment Showcase ahead of the April 22 deadline.
The 2026 edition will have keynote speeches, panel discussions, fireside chats and masterclasses. Some of the topics to be covered include IPOs, cross-border trade, digital infrastructure and climate tech.
