Binance has launched a new community-focused initiative in Kenya that seeks to promote both physical and digital safety.

Dubbed the “Safety Campaign,” the initiative was unveiled in Nairobi during Data Privacy Week and connects common safety habits like wearing a helmet or double-checking your fare, with the practices users need to protect their digital assets.

At the heart of the activation was an outreach program for boda boda riders, one of Kenya’s most visible and vulnerable working communities. Binance distributed safety helmets and reflective gear while also educating riders on road safety and digital financial protection.

“Wearing a helmet is a simple yet powerful way to protect yourself on the road. In the same way, Binance’s secure platform empowers individuals to take control of their financial future with confidence and freedom,” said Saruni Maina, Regional Operations Lead, Binance Africa.

For riders on the ground, the message landed both practically and symbolically.

“A helmet can save your life, but many riders cannot afford proper gear. Today’s event shows that our safety matters,” said Calvince Okumu, President of the Digital Boda Drivers and Deliveries Association of Kenya.
“It also reminds us that protecting ourselves online is just as important as staying safe on the road.”

Beyond physical gear, Binance used the campaign to introduce riders and community members to the idea of protecting digital income and assets, especially as more Kenyans participate in the digital economy.

“Trust is the foundation of crypto adoption,” Maina added. “We don’t just provide technology; we educate and engage communities so users feel confident navigating the digital economy.”

The Safety Campaign will continue across digital platforms through educational videos, localized social media content, influencer partnerships, and community engagement, as Binance pushes for a safer and more inclusive crypto ecosystem across Africa.
