Vertiv has completed its previously announced plan to acquire Purge Rite Intermediate, also known as PurgeRite. The deal is valued at approximately $1 billion and strengthens Vertiv’s thermal management capabilities and reinforces its position as a leader in next generation liquid cooling services for data centres.

Gio Albertazzi, CEO of Vertiv, said the acquisition will enhance the company’s ability to support high density computing environments. He added that PurgeRite’s specialised expertise in fluid management complements Vertiv’s portfolio and improves its ability to deliver end to end support for AI and HPC applications that depend on efficient thermal performance.

The demand for liquid cooling continues to rise as AI workloads and high performance computing create unprecedented heat densities in modern data centres.

By integrating PurgeRite into its thermal management business, Vertiv expects to offer several benefits to customers. These include improved heat transfer and system efficiency, reduced downtime risks through operational excellence.

PurgeRite provides mechanical flushing, purging and filtration services for mission critical facilities. The company works with hyperscalers and Tier 1 colocation providers. It offers proprietary technologies and engineering expertise designed to support complex liquid cooling deployments.

After this acquisition, PurgeRite’s capabilities will be integrated with Vertiv’s existing liquid cooling solutions to deliver unified and scalable thermal management from facility to room and rack level.
