Unaitas SACCO has announced a new partnership with Integrated Payment Services Limited (IPSL), the operator of Pesalink. This partnership seeks to deliver instant and affordable financial services to Unaitas members.

Unaitas became the first SACCO in Kenya to integrate with Pesalink. This allows its more than 400,000 members to make real-time payments directly from their accounts. Members can now access funds 24/7 through the Mo-Cash App or by dialing *493#. This removes the limits of traditional banking hours.

According to IPSL CEO Gituku Kirika, this partnership goes beyond technology adoption. “Unaitas was a trailblazer, and that single move has changed the narrative for the entire SACCO sector. This collaboration shows how interoperability creates impact by empowering members with instant, inclusive, and affordable access to finance,” he said.

Unaitas CEO Martin Muhoho said the collaboration has improved efficiency and convenience for members while strengthening the SACCO’s digital capabilities. “Harnessing Pesalink means a faster, more secure way for our members to transact. It enhances member experience, reduces manual processing, and provides a strong foundation for continued digital growth,” he noted.

Beyond individual transactions, Unaitas is also leveraging Pesalink’s Bulk Payment and Merchant Pay features for payroll, supplier, and business payments. This positions the SACCO to better serve SMEs, agribusinesses, Chamas and other community-based groups that depend on quick and reliable financial services.
