Jiji has launched a free online business course dubbed “Zero to Profit: The Essentials of Business Building.” The new initiative aims to equip young Kenyans with the skills needed to turn business ideas into profitable ventures in the fast-changing digital economy.

If you have a startup you want featured on TechArena, let us know through this contact form here.

The course is available through the newly established Jiji Academy,  launched at Mount Kenya University (MKU), Thika.

Speaking during the launch, Maureen Naliaka, PR & Marketing Manager at Jiji Kenya, said the company’s goal goes beyond just being an e-commerce platform.

“At Jiji, our mission has always been to empower people by creating opportunities, not just through our platform, but through meaningful initiatives that address real challenges,” said Naliaka. “We see the drive and potential among Kenyan youth, but access to the right knowledge is often missing — and that’s where Jiji Academy comes in.”

The Zero to Profit course is self-paced and completely free. It covers everything from identifying profitable niches and sourcing suppliers. It also covers mastering pricing, marketing, branding, taxation and customer retention. It also includes lessons on fraud prevention, delivery safety and legal compliance. These are crucil lessons to anyone running a business.

Those who complete the course will receive a certificate of knowledge and a free Boost Package to help them kickstart their business journey on Jiji.

“This free educational course is our first step in tackling youth unemployment and helping aspiring entrepreneurs take control of their financial future,” added Naliaka. “To every Kenyan feeling stuck or uncertain, Jiji Academy is here to help you move forward.”
