Schneider Electric has announced the appointment of Canninah Dladla as its new Cluster President for English-speaking Africa, effective June 1, 2025. She becomes the company’s first female leader for the region.
The appointment comes at a time when Schneider Electric is expanding its footprint in Africa. The Anglophone Africa cluster, which includes 24 countries and is headquartered in Johannesburg, South Africa, is viewed as a high-growth region for the company.
Dladla steps into the role following the leadership of Devan Pillay, who now transitions into a new global position as Segment President, Heavy Industries, based in London.
“We are thrilled to welcome Canninah Dladla into this pivotal leadership role,” said Walid Sheta, Schneider Electric’s Zone President for Middle East & Africa. “Her extensive industry expertise, proven leadership skills, and innovative vision will undoubtedly drive our operations and growth across English-speaking Africa.”
Dladla is no stranger to Schneider Electric. From 2008 to 2013, she held various leadership roles within the company, including Vice President of the Energy Business in its Power Systems division. She returns with nearly three decades of experience, having most recently served as Managing Director and Country Sales Director, Africa at Rockwell Automation.
Previously,, Dladla helped lead business transformation initiatives and promoted cultural alignment across African markets. She also helped expand Rockwell’s footprint across both Anglophone and Francophone Africa.
Earlier in her career, she held executive roles at GE Power, where she led strategic accounts and transformation initiatives for the energy sector.
Speaking on her new role, Dladla expressed enthusiasm for the opportunities that lie ahead: “I’m delighted to rejoin Schneider Electric at a time when Anglophone Africa shows great potential for transformation,” said Dladla. “With a mix of natural resources, growing urbanization, and increasing energy needs, this region is ripe for innovation. I look forward to driving sustainable solutions that empower businesses and communities while unlocking long-term value for millions of Africans.”
