Jiji has won two major awards at two prestigious events. The company was named Best E-Commerce Platform at the 2024 Digitally Fit Awards – East Africa Edition, and Best Online Classified/Resale Marketplace App at the 4th Mobile App Awards 2024.

The Digitally Fit Awards ceremony took place at the Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi, where Jiji’s Chief Financial Officer, Donald Obonyo, accepted the Best E-Commerce Platform award on behalf of the company.

Donald expressed his gratitude and pride in the achievement, “We’re excited to be recognized as the Best E-Commerce Platform in East Africa. This award highlights the hard work and dedication of our entire team and reflects the trust our customers place in us. We’re committed to simplifying online buying and selling, helping businesses grow and thrive across the region.” – Donald Obonyo, Chief Financial Officer, Jiji Kenya

At the 4th Mobile App Awards that took place at the Westlands Banquet Center in Nairobi, Jiji was honoured with the Best Online Classified/Resale Marketplace App award.

Public Relations Manager at Jiji, Maureen Naliaka, expressed gratitude for the award. She said, “It’s an incredible honour for Jiji to receive this recognition at the 4th Mobile App Awards. Our mission has always been to provide a seamless, user-friendly experience for all our users. This award reaffirms that our commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction is driving our success.”  – Maureen Naliaka, Public Relations Manager, Jiji

Since launching its operations in East Africa in 2019, Jiji has quickly become one of the most popular e-commerce platforms in the region, with millions of users accessing the platform each month. The company continues to lead the industry by offering a wide variety of products and services.

International Trade Administration released a forecast for the growth of e-commerce market in Africa, stating that, “Africa is forecast to surpass half a billion ecommerce users by 2025, which will have shown a steady 17% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of online consumers for the market.”

This growth is fueled by the expansion of internet access and the increasing reliance on mobile internet.

The recognition of Jiji’s excellence in both platform and app categories highlights its role in shaping the future of e-commerce in East Africa and beyond. As the region’s e-commerce market continues to grow, Jiji remains at the forefront, empowering entrepreneurs and connecting them with buyers across the continent.
