Demand for electric vehicles has been on the rise in Kenya the last few years and CFAO wants to capitalize on this. Through its subsidiary, it will be offering 100% electric vehicles for leasing and purchase.

The three BYD vehicles unveiled in Kenya and their prices:

    • Dolphin—Starting at Ksh7.5 million
    • Seal—Starting at Kshh7.5 million
    • Atto 3—Ksh12 million

Loxea’s Managing Director, Jennifer Kinyoe, said, “Our broader vision to lead in Kenya’s evolving mobility ecosystem, offering a comprehensive suite of services associated with electric cars. This includes the installation of electric charging stations, vehicle maintenance, repair services, and the provision of spare parts.”

Trade and Industry Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya, said, “The country’s peak electricity demand is lower than its generation capacity, allowing for the effective utilization of off-peak hours for EV charging. These are some of the enablers of EV adoption that will drive the energy transition in the mobility sector.”
