    OPPO Reno 12 Series Set to Launch in Kenya on August 22

    OPPO is set to launch the Reno 12 series in Kenya later this week. The launch event will be on August 22 in Nairobi. This is the successor to the Reno 11 series that was launched in Kenya earlier this year.

    I have the OPPO Reno 12 5G for review and will be sharing my thoughts on it in a few days.

    The OPPO Reno12 series launch comes after the global launch of OPPO’s strategy to democratize AI for all mobile phone consumers across the brand’s device range. Reno12’s series launch will introduce two groundbreaking AI Phones with the Reno12 5G  and Reno12 F 5G , introducing a range of cutting-edge GenAI features that will  enable users to unlock their creativity and productivity.

    OPPO Reno 12 5G Specifications

    Below are the key specifications of the Reno 12 5G.

    • Display: 6.7-inch (1080 x 2412 pixels), AMOLED, 120Hz, HDR10+. 
    • Processor: Mediatek Dimensity 7300 Energy.
    • Rear Camera: 50MP + 8MP + 2MP: Records 4K@30fps.
    • Front Camera: 32MP
    • RAM: 8/12GB
    • Storage: 256GB
    • Battery Capacity: 5,000mAh, 80W charging.
    • Android 14, ColorOS 14.1

    The Reno12 5G will be available in two color options: Matte Brown and Astro Silver. On the other hand, the Reno12 f 5G will offer a choice between the nature-inspired Olive Green and the vibrant Amber Orange.

    Dubbed as the OPPO’s  AI Phone, Reno12 series comes with unbeatable AI functionality, that will assist its user herness their creativity and productivity with features such as  AI Eraser 2.0, AI Toolbox, and a suite of other intelligent functionalities that set it apart as the ultimate AI phone on the market. 

    In partnership with GenAI industry leaders such as Google, Microsoft among others, Reno12 Series will introduce a suite of breakthrough GenAI features suited to cater for all users. Featuring updated AI Eraser 2.0  enabled to easily identify objects in a picture, Reno12 Series user will be able to utilize this functionally just by a simple tap. Additionally, this functionality is also be utilized in group photos.

    Aside from being the AI portrait expert, Reno12 series seeks to be an intelligent AI assistant for users from automatically recoding meeting summaries, lectures save us the effort of constantly taking notes.  AI functionality such as the AI Writer  to help tackle  writer’s block through suggesting creative content that can help users manage writer’s block .
