Samsung has officially introduced the Galaxy A25 5G smartphone in Kenya, expanding its lineup in the region. Priced at Ksh 43,000, the base model comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The 8GB RAM variant with 256GB storage is available for Ksh 50,000.

Compared to its successor, the Galaxy A24 5G, the A25 5G is quite expensive. At launch, the A24 5G was available in stores for Ksh 30,800. The price hike from 30k to 43K is significant and I hope it will be worth it.

The Galaxy A25 5G has a 6.5 inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display. This display has 120Hz refresh rate which is an upgrade compared to the A24 5G. Powering the device is the Exynos 1280 processor, the same chip found in the Galaxy M34. It does appear like the A25 5G is a rebranded and pricier version of the Galaxy M34. The device is available with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM and a choice between 128GB or 256GB of internal storage,

Photography needs are handled care by the 50 MP wide camera, 8MP ultrawide sensor and a 2MP macro lens. The rear camera is capable of recording 4K videos at 30 fps, while the 13MP front camera takes care of selfie requirements.

The A25 5G comes with the same 5000 mAh battery on the A24 which still supports up to 25W charging speeds. At this price, this is slow compared to the charging speeds you can get from most of  its competitors.

Other Galaxy A series devices launched

In addition to the Galaxy A25 5G, Samsung has unveiled other devices in the Galaxy A series. The Galaxy A15 5G, priced at Ksh 30,000 for the 4GB RAM variant with 128GB of storage. The A15 4G is available for Ksh 27,000, followed by the Galaxy A05s at Ksh 21,000, and the Galaxy A05 at Ksh 17,000.

All the mentioned Samsung smartphones are now available across Samsung brand stores and authorized dealers. Notably, the Galaxy A25 5G, A15 5G, and A15 models come with Samsung Care+, offering 12-month protection against accidental screen damage. Buyers should register for Samsung Care+ within 30 days of purchase to avail themselves of this coverage.
