    Did you know that you can send and receive money from abroad, for free, using Airtel Money? Through the International Money Transfer service, sending and receiving cash via Airtel Money helps you to save on currency exchange fees that you encounter when converting currency in a foreign country.

    A recent report by the Central Bank of Kenya, showed that the country’s diaspora remittances rose by 8.34% to $4.027 billion in 2022 closing on exports from key economic sectors such as tourism, tea and horticulture that brought in $5.77 billion worth of foreign currency.

    Remittances play a vital role in helping to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by providing a source of income to support basic needs, support economic growth, job creation and social development.

    With Airtel Money you can now transfer and receive money conveniently across borders.

    You can send money from Airtel Money to the following countries by simply dialing *334# >> select Send Money >> Select Another Country:

    • Tanzania: Airtel Tanzania, Vodacom/Mpesa & Tigo Pesa Tanzania.
    • Rwanda: Airtel Rwanda & MTN Rwanda.
    • Zambia: Airtel Zambia
    • Malawi: Airtel Malawi.
    • Uganda: Airtel Uganda & MTN Uganda.
    • Ethiopia: Ethio Telcom.

    You can receive money from Airtel Money from the following countries:

    • Tanzania: Airtel Tanzania, Vodacom Tanzania, and Tigo Pesa Tanzania.
    • Rwanda: MTN Rwanda and Airtel Rwanda.
    • Zambia: Airtel Zambia.
    • Uganda: Airtel Uganda.
    • South Africa: South Africa via Mama Money
