Carrefour has teamed up with Mastercard to introduce an enticing 20% discount on purchases made at Carrefour stores using locally issued Mastercard cards.

Starting from November 10, 2023, and extending until December 31, 2023, the collaborative campaign will run every weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday), providing debit, credit, and prepaid Mastercard cardholders in Kenya with an opportunity to enjoy significant savings both online and in physical Carrefour stores.

Christophe Orcet, Carrefour Regional Director for East Africa, expressed his excitement about the partnership, stating, “We are thrilled to be collaborating with Mastercard to bring this exclusive discount to our customers. As we celebrate the festive season, we want to make shopping more rewarding and convenient with greater savings. As a retailer, we remain committed to identifying and providing our customers with flexible payment solutions.”

Customers looking to benefit from this exclusive discount can do so by using the promo code “MA20” when using an eligible Mastercard card at any Carrefour store checkout counter or through the MAF Carrefour App for online purchases. For each transaction exceeding KES 5,000 in a single purchase, shoppers can receive a maximum discount of KES 1,000 in the form of Carrefour’s MyCLUB loyalty points.

MyCLUB members stand to gain even more from this collaboration, earning an additional 10% loyalty bonus points for in-store purchases. This additional benefit further enhances the overall value proposition for loyal Carrefour customers.

Mastercard, through its collaboration with Carrefour, is keen on delivering an unparalleled shopping experience, both in-store and online. Shehryar Ali, Senior Vice President and Country Manager for East Africa and Indian Ocean Islands at Mastercard, commented, “We are delighted to collaborate with Carrefour as we bring cardholders even more value during the festive season. This collaboration offers shoppers a rewarding experience that not only eases the holiday expenses but also encourages safe, secure, and convenient digital transactions.”
