In a resounding testament to its unwavering commitment to bridging the digital divide across Africa, Liquid Intelligent Technologies South Africa, a subsidiary of the Cassava Technologies conglomerate, has clinched not one, but two prestigious accolades at the highly acclaimed GovTech 2023 event. These awards serve as a resounding affirmation of Liquid’s vision for a digitally connected future that leaves no African behind.

The first feather in Liquid’s cap at GovTech 2023 is the Africa Award, a distinction that acknowledges the profound impact the company has made on the lives of countless Africans through its innovative ICT solutions. Central to this recognition is Liquid’s extensive 110,000-kilometer fiber network, which has brought high-speed connectivity to remote corners of the continent. This infrastructure forms the backbone of Liquid’s mission to catalyze African growth by providing cost-effective regional internet connectivity, thereby driving digital transformation on an unprecedented scale.

The second honor bestowed upon Liquid Intelligent Technologies is the Digital Partnerships Award, an accolade that specifically recognizes the company’s commitment to empowering South Africa’s youth. Through its YES4YOUTH IT Training Program, Liquid has played a pivotal role in fostering the growth and education of young individuals. This initiative equips South African youth with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in the ever-evolving ICT sector, while also opening doors to employment opportunities.

Deon Geyser, CEO of Liquid Intelligent Technologies South Africa, expressed his gratitude for the recognition, emphasizing Liquid’s dedication to realizing its vision of a digitally connected future that leaves no African behind. He highlighted the importance of Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) in achieving this goal and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to collaborate with the State Information Technology Agency (SITA) in digitally transforming South Africa.

In addition to these achievements, Liquid Intelligent Technologies recently made headlines with the expansion of its fiber network. This expansion connects Kenya to Ethiopia and Zambia to Malawi, effectively bringing carrier-grade connectivity to these countries. This strategic move not only enhances Liquid’s regional footprint but also contributes to the broader objective of ensuring Africa’s future prosperity through fast and reliable connectivity.
