All You Need to Know About Safaricom Bonga Points and Bonga Point Phones for 2023

Bonga Points is Safaricom’s loyalty programme to reward customers using its services. You get 1 bonga point for every Ksh 10 you spend on Airtime, SMS, Data and M-Pesa services. Initially, you only got Bonga Points when using Airtime, Data and SMS, the M-Pesa option was added recently. 

Bonga Points can be accumulated by both Safaricom Prepay and Postpay customers as long as they keep using Safaricom services. 

How to Enroll / activate Bonga Points on Safaricom

As long as you have a Safaricom SIM card, you can easily activate and enroll to earn Bonga Points by: 

  • Dial *126#
  • Choose option 7 – Enroll.

Follow the prompts from there. 

You will get a confirmation by text once you have been enrolled and get 10 Free points. From that point, you will earn 1 point for every Ksh 10 spent. If you also choose to register your personal information when enrolling for Bonga, you will get 30 Free Bonga points.

Yes, you do earn Bonga Points when using M-Pesa services. This option was introduced not so long ago as a way to get more people to use M-Pesa services.
