OPPO Kenya has officially launched the latest devices in the Reno series in Kenya. The series has two main devices, the standard Reno 8 (4G) and the Reno 8 5G. The two phones will be available for Ksh 42,999 and Ksh 59,999 respectively. They will be available on pre-order from today till October 31. Availability in retail stores is from November 1st, 2022.

The Reno 8 series is the successor to the Reno 7 that the company introduced to this market early this year. I did use the OPPO Reno 7 4G and loved it. The Reno 8 builds on that and for this series, I do have the Reno 8 5G to review.I have been using this phone for a few weeks so far I love it. it does feel quite premium and I can’t wait to share my full thoughts on it.

“At OPPO, we are constantly looking into ways we can improve our users’ experience. Looking at the new Reno8 series, you can see so many aspects of the new series have been upgraded to suit the modern OPPO consumer. From everyday functionality, design, and entertainment, our consumers are going to enjoy their experience with the Reno8 series.” said Frederique Achieng, PR Manager, OPPO Kenya.

    OPPO Reno 8 5G Specifications

The OPPO Reno 8 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1300 processor that is paired with 8 of RAM and 256GB of storage.

This phone does have a 6.43 inch AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate. I would have hoped for 120Hz refresh rate but we will not be getting that on this variant for now.

For the cameras, the Reno 8 has a triple setup at the back made up of a 50 MP main sensor, 8 MP ultrawide sensor and 2 MP macro lens. It does have a single 32 MP selfie camera.

A 4500 mAh battery that supports 80W fast charging provides all the power.
