Tecno Mobile has officially launched the Camon 19 series in the Kenyan market. The new phone will be available in three variants, the standard Camon 19, the Camon 19 Pro and the Camon 19 Pro 5G.

The Camon 19 series looks and feel different from its predecessor, the Camon 18.  I love the new design language Tecno is going with. We get a flat back with two camera lenses at the back. Tecno is also focusing so much on the cameras and having used the Camon 19 Pro for a few days, I have to say I have been impressed so far. The low-light shots and videos you get are quite good.

The Tecno Camon 19 series is the company’s camera-centric phone and from the look of things so far, it does deliver in that department.

Tecno Camon 19 price and availability in Kenya

Here are the prices for the Camon 19 series devices:

    • CAMON 19 – Ksh23,499
    • CAMON 19 PRO – Ksh 33, 799
    • CAMON 19 Pro 5G – Ksh 41,599

    Tecno Camon 19 Specifications

The Tecno Camon 19 comes with some decent specifications that might make it worth having. It has a 6.8-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1080 x 2460 pixels. This is the same display on the Camon 19 Pro with the latter having 120Hz refresh rate as an advantage.

Powering the Camon 19 is the MediaTek Helio G85 processor while the Pro variant comes with the MediaTek Helio G96 processor. The G96 is slightly better with improved performance for day-to-day tasks and even gaming. The standard Camon 19 has 4GB of RAM while the Pro version comes with 8GB of RAM.

As for the cameras, the standard Tecno Camon 19 has a triple camera module made up of a 64MP main sensor, 2MP depth sensor and QVGA sensor. A 16MP sensor sits at the front for all your selfies. The Pro variant on the other hand also has a triple camera setup made up of a 64MP main sensor, 50MP telephoto lens and a 2MP depth sensor. This model has a 32MP selfie camera.

Both Camon 19 variants have 5,000 mAh batteries with the pro variant supporting 33W fast charging while the standard version supporting 18W fast charging.

Both phones are available in Kenya at the moment. I am expecting the 5G variant to launch at a later date. I am currently reviewing the Camon 19 Pro in the coming days so watch out for that.
