Infinix confirms a new Note 12 device powered by the Helio G99 Processor is coming soon

Infinix Note 12 kenya

Infinix is set to add yet another smartphone to the Note 12 series. The series already has the Note 12, Note 12i, and the Note 12 VIP. The Note 12 VIP is currently available in Kenya for Ksh 42,000 and I have a review unit and should share my thoughts on it soon.

The three devices are not the only ones we will be seeing in this series. The company has just confirmed that there will be one more to be launched soon.

The one unique thing about this new Note 12 device is that it will be the first one to be powered by the MediaTek Helio G99 processor. This processor was introduced last month by MediaTek and Infinix will be the first smartphone brand to carry it.

The current devices in the series are powered by the Helio G96 processor from last year. The first smartphone in Africa to ship with this processor last year was the Tecno Camon 18.

Infinix is yet to share much about this new Note series device but I do not expect any big differences compared to the existing devices. The company might even phase out the current Note 12 prematurely in favor of the G99-powered one.

Back to the Helio G99, it still does not support 5G connectivity so do not expect 5G support on the Infinix Note 12 series. It does however support a maximum camera resolution of 108MP. We might get this camera or the company can choose to settle for a 64MP camera for this unit.

I will update you with more details on this phone once I get them. In the meantime, keep an eye out for my review of the Note 2 VIP that should be up in about a week.
