InstaFrom intelligent refrigerators that detect your food is running low to TVs that switch to your favorite show when you enter the room, the concept of smart homes is becoming popular as people re-think how they spend time indoors with family and friends.

To a great extent, our lives revolved around home. We want to experience comfort and serenity within our most treasured personal spaces. Plus, there is something nostalgic about the place we call home. As someone said, “Home is where love resides, memories are created, friends always belong and laughter never ends.”

However, home is not just a building we reside in but a reflection of our individual lifestyle. As such, more people are embracing innovative technologies that make their homes more comfortable and versatile.

A convenient, connected and interactive lifestyle is the in-thing nowadays as that comes with a greater degree of control over living spaces. For the environmentally and pocket conscious, we want to reduce our energy and water bills and minimize our carbon footprint.

An online survey in the US revealed that majority identified energy saving as the biggest benefit of smart homes followed by comfort and utility.

But what really is a smart home? The UK Department of Trade and Industry defines a smart home as a “dwelling incorporating a communications network that connects the key electrical appliances and services, and allows them to be remotely controlled, monitored and accessed.”

The elements of a smart home therefore include an internal network, intelligent control and automation. Autonomous systems manage heating, lighting, security, access and entertainment.

The advent of the digital era has paved the way for the widespread use of smart appliances that use innovative technologies like artificial intelligence that allow users to remotely manage them.

Take an intelligent refrigerator, for example. It can analyze your habits and automatically switches to energy-saving mode when used less. LG smart refrigerators let you control key features using the LG ThinQ app on your smartphone. Talk of appliances that use deep learning to help you manage your kitchen and life.

With a few simple voice commands, it puts you effortlessly in control of your kitchen chores and even keeps you entertained as you prepare that special meal for the family. In case you doubt it, try the award-winning LG InstaView Door-in-Door refrigerator. It is not only environmentally-friendly but also energy-saving as you can see inside without having to keep opening the door.

The LG ThinQ AI, an app which allows you to connect with your smart appliances, comes with Smart Learner, an intuitive technology that analyzes habits to anticipate your refrigerator’s temperature and energy needs. How about tracking your groceries and ensuring you don’t run out of food?

The kitchen is the soul of the home. Start your quest for a smart home by creating a smart kitchen with smart appliances like the LG InstaView Door-in-Door refrigerator.

The same case with your living room where with smart LG OLED TVs combine the latest screen and gaming technology to deliver a superb home entertainment experience.
