The Nokia C30 is finally available in Kenya starting from Ksh 14,500. This is the latest from HMD Global to launch in the country and is available in two colour options of green and white. This phone comes into the market a few weeks after we saw another budget smartphone from the company, the Nokia C10. I have reviewed the C10 and it is a good phone but it does target different buyers compared to the C30.

The Nokia C30 comes with a 6.82-inch HD+ display that offers 720×1600 pixels resolution. The display has a water drop notch design that holds the front facing camera.  Speaking of the front facing Camera, it is a 5MP one while at the back the phone has a dual setup comprising of 13MP and 2MP sensors.

Gopher Ogembo, Senior Business Manager Kenya & East Africa HMD Global said: “Somewhat of a “flagship” in our C-series, the Nokia C30 is a shining example of what this range stands for bringing the best possible quality to an introductory price point. It’s the ultimate device for Kenyans who are ready to transition into the world of smart technology from a brand you know and trust. More than half of smartphone users say that daily battery life is the most important battery feature for their needs. The Nokia C30 is an answer to what people have been asking for – more time between charges, more screen, our signature security and durability, and the same accessible price point.”

The Nokia C30 has a massive 6000mAh battery that supports charging via microUSB 2.0 port. There is no fast charging support and the best you can get is 10W. This is not good news considering how big the battery is and some of the other phones it is trying to compete with support some form of fast charging.

Below are some of the key specifications of the Nokia C30.

    • Display: 6.85-inch; 720 x 1600 Pixels
    • Chipset: Unisoc SC9863A
    • RAM: 2/3 GB RAM
    • Storage: 32/64GB
    • Rear cameras: 13MP + 2MP
    • Front camera: 5MP
    • Battery: 6,000mAh

    Pricing and Availability

The Nokia C30 is available in Kenya starting from Ksh 14,500 for the 2/32GB variant. There is a 3/64GB variant for those who want more RAM and storage space.
